I did my schooling at Humber College in the late 90's when everyone was trying to learn how to fix Y2K bugs in COBOL. It was then that I decided that I wanted nothing to do with programming. When all was said and done I have spent the last 12 years (and growing) in various Networking, Support, and Server Management positions for various private and public sector employers. It’s funny how I have now come full circle and I am again surrounded by programmers. Smile | :)

When I manage to get away from the office I am usually fishing, off-roading, golfing, canoeing or camping. Pretty much anything that keeps me outside. Actually I just bought my first DSLR camera and I think its going to soak up much of my time and resources over the next little while.

Sean Ewington is the Content Manager for CodeProject.

His background in programming is primarily C++ and HTML, but has experience in other, "unsavoury" languages.

He loves movies, and likes to say "inconceivable" often, even if it does not mean what he thinks it means.

Matt has over 6 years .NET and SQL Server development experience. Before getting into .Net, he worked on a number of systems, ranging from the largest ATM network in The Netherlands to embedded software in advanced Wide Area Networks and the largest ticketing web site in Australia. He has lived and worked in Australia, The Netherlands, Slovakia and Thailand.

He recently wrote a book, ASP.NET Performance Secrets (www.packtpub.com/asp-net-site-performance-secrets/book) in which he shows in clear and practical terms how to quickly find the biggest bottlenecks holding back the performance of your web site, and how to then remove those bottlenecks. The book deals with all environments affecting a web site - the web server, the database server and the browser.

Matt's blog is mattperdeck.com

Matt currently lives in Sydney, Australia, where he works at Readify, a high profile software consultancy.

My first experience with computers was when my mom gave a Timex Sinclair 1000 to me for Christmas some time in the late 70's (I still have it)There I learned to copy code from magazines to save to cassette tapes for playing games.

Since then I have dabbled in:
Basic,Qbasic, ruby, python,Java Script, HTML, CSS, C#, C++, Perl, and a few other I can't think of off hand.
Now I Mainly work with VB Script and VB.Net
I Prefer to build programs that make use of the GUI so I don't have to remember all of the syntax for console apps. I realy don't care much for HTML because of the way you build and then run to see if it looks right. Also the new WPF is to much like HTML so I steer clear of it for now.
Most of what I build is for getting information from a system to use in system repair.I make heavy use of the WMI classes. Why reinvent something.

Elina joined the Code Project team as a software developer in order to make the site run even smoother than it is now. She will also take care of making wishes and promises on the site improvements come to the light sooner than later. When not at work, she enjoys being with her family and wishes there will be at least 30 hours in a day Smile | :)
